Limitations
- The records are North-American. A car that has only ever been registered in Europe will usually come back clean because no North-American register holds it, which is not the same as a European damage history.
- It is most useful for imported vehicles, where a branded title abroad is the single fact most often left out of a listing.
- A clean title is not a guarantee of no damage: repairs paid for privately never reach a title register.
Individual vehicle records, not a comprehensive accident, title or ownership report. Missing records do not prove a clean history.
